Bluntnose darter

The bluntnose darter (''Etheostoma chlorosomum'') is a species of darter endemic to the eastern United States, where it occurs in the Mississippi River basin from southern Minnesota to Louisiana, and in the drainages of Mobile Bay and the San Antonio River. It inhabits weedy-, muddy-, or sandy-bottomed, slow-moving waters of swamps, lakes, ponds, streams, and pools and backwaters of rivers. It preys on insect larvae. This species can reach a length of .
